Edinburgh was by far my favorite place to visit. The weather was just how I like it. Cool enough for jeans, rainy and not humid. The people were so nice. They loved us Texans. The nightlife is amazing. You leave at 9:00 p.m. and get home around 4:00 a.m. The music at the clubs is so much fun to dance to, and the variety of places to go is amazing. There was plenty to do in the daytime as well. I'm pretty sure we walked all over Edinburgh. Getting lost in the city was half the fun. Here are some pictures of the time spent in Edinburgh.

We did a little bit of sight seeing, we didn't hit all the historical places, but we were sure to get all of the bars and clubs :) One of the historical things I did see was Edinburgh Castle. We went our first weekend in Edinburgh and it was fun. The castle was pretty much just old stone, but it was really neat to walk around the hill it is located on. We walked from the bottom of the hill all the way up around the hill to the top where the castle was. The cliff on back of the castle is so high, it's amazing that they carried those heavy stones up the top of it to build the castle. At the bottom of the hill off of Princes St. is the park. It was so pretty. You could sit and look up at the beautiful scenery of the castle on the hill, or the old, gothic buildings and pretty apartments on the Royal Mile, look at the gilded fountain in the middle of the park(picture to the left), or even take a ride on the old fashioned carosel. It was a great place to sit and take a break.

The night life in Edinburgh was great. We would leave the university around 9:00. Sometimes we would get a drink or two at the University Pub to get us started, then catch the 10:00 bus into town. When we got to town we'd hit the bars. We went to tons of different places. Some of my favorites were Three Sisters, Biddy Mulligans, and Frankensteins Pub. That picture to the right is of me and Cydney and some guys we met at Biddy's, then went over to Frankensteins with. The people in Edinburgh were so nice. They just loved that we were from Texas. I can't remember anyone being rude to us. Even in the lines to get in to the clubs we made new friends. After the bars closed at 1am, it was off to the clubs. The club we usually ended up at was Espionage. This is a 5 level night club with great atmosphere, music, and drinks. The clubs didn't close until 3am so we weren't discouraged when the bars shut down at 2. Another club I really liked was Opium. It was an alternative music club so I was in heaven. One thing I loved about the clubs there was the music. Even at the dance clubs the music was so much better than here in San Angelo. Not as much rap was played. They played some 80's and early 90's music and that was so much fun. There's nothing like dancing to Tiffany, Wham, Madonna and ended with "I've had the time of my life" from Dirty Dancing. It was so much fun.
